Garofalo has been making pasta for over 300 years in Gragnano near Naples in Italy, the home of pasta. Made from 100% robust desert durum wheat and shaped using a bronze die gives Garofalo pasta its premium taste and texture.

"When I was in my teens, little diamanté brooches in the shape of half-moons and stars were all the rage, and I feel that’s had a lasting impact! Thus, when I first found these particular pasta shapes on here, I just had to buy them, no matter that they are, in fact, part of Garofalo’s baby range. I haven’t let myself run out of them since: most often, I add them to soups, but they are also great in lots of dishes as a replacement for orzo. Little they may be, but they are also sturdy, and this makes them stand up well to other robust or chunky ingredients: if I have a very small amount of stew, say, left over in the fridge, not enough for a meal in itself, I heat it up, and cook these enchanting little shapes in the juice (adding some water if needed, and frozen petits pois if desired) to make for a wonderful, filling, and quick meal-in-a-bowl.
