'The first time I bought one of these was because I need to ferry a cake to a friend’s house, and was unsurprisingly keen for it to reach its destination unmarred and intact, but I use it most as a way of storing cakes, and wouldn’t be without it. And it’s what I also reach for if I’m making a pavlova and am baking the base a day ahead, as that way I can be sure that the crisp edges of meringue will not soften as it waits to be anointed with cream and fruit!
